In 1945, just days before the end of World War II, 27-year-old fighter pilot Loren Hintz was shot down over rural Italy, leaving behind his pregnant wife and young daughter.
Directed by Pam Percy, the documentary Finding Loren follows the sweeping trajectory of Hintz’s life, and the decades-long effort led by his grandson, Hans Wronka, to recover his remains and have them laid to rest.
Loren, a native of Charles City, Iowa, was a member of a Woodcraft Tribe in Iowa and a protege of H. Clark Brown, Woodcraft leader, naturalist, poet and performer who was a close associate of Seton’s and was on the faculty at Seton Village. This film chronicles Loren’s life and includes information abut his participation in Woodcraft and a road trip to Seton Village in Santa Fe.
